PLOTNICK
Stephen L.
Age 75, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, of the Allentown neighborhood of Pittsburgh; originally Middletown, Ohio.
"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen "Steve" L. Plotnick, age 75, on May 29, 2025. Born in Middletown, Ohio, to the great Bertram Plotnick and Marian Loraine Plotnick. Steve was a beloved father, brother, and cherished member of the Pittsburgh community.
After graduating from Meadowdale High School in Dayton, Ohio, Steve dedicated his life to serving others through diverse careers, including social work studies at Ohio University. He moved to Pittsburgh and worked with the Pittsburgh Housing Authority, where he met Tammy. He helped many others with living expenses around the neighborhood and later worked for an asbestos company. He took leadership in founding his non-profit, Furnish-A-Start. He later worked with S&S Tobacco Company, never wanting to stop working.
A man of adventure, Steve loved camping, sailing, traveling, and was a passionate Cleveland Browns fan. He was legendary for his unbeatable blackjack skills in 2013. Steve accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Plotnick, daughter, Dakota Plotnick, and other beloved children; grandchildren, Ty'Aire and Kelly; brother Jeff (Theresa) Plotnick, "babybaby brother" David; best friend and like a brother, Terry (Sharon) Bryant; and will also be dearly missed by many other family and friends.
He was pre-deceased in death by his parents, Bertram and Marian Goldflies Plotnick.
Steve's legacy of hard work, adventure, and love will live on through all who knew him. May his spirit and wisdom travel through us all."
