THOMAS

Nancy "Auntie"

Age 60, peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, of Mt. Oliver, originally from the Hill District neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

I Thought Of You With Love Today (Poem) Author Unknown

I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence; I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my Heart.

Auntie, also known as Nancy Thomas. She was a Army Veteran, a Daughter, Big Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt, and Niece. She leaves behind her sister Lisa, Brother's John and David, and all of her nieces and nephews.  Today we are here to honor, remember, and celebrate Auntie, Nancy Thomas. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was like a second mom to us.To know Auntie was to Love Auntie. I honestly can't remember our lives without her in it, even though she went to the army to serve our country it seem like she was always with us and never left. She spoiled us and some of us more rotten than others, she was like the grandparent that didn't say no!  She loved us unconditionally like we were her own. She was so loving, caring and would give anyone the shirt off her back, she was non judgemental so we could go to her for anything! She was such a wise woman, she spoke life into us always seeing the greatness and encouraging us to be great in life.  I am so proud and grateful that she had the priviledge to live on this earth for 60 years and I am even more grateful to have had her in my life for over 30!

Auntie was diagnosed with schizophrenia in her early 20's. It changed her life forever but she didn't let it define her, she was such a strong women she fought that battle from the time she was diagnosed until she was called home!  In the last several years it had gotten harder for her along with having respiratory issues, so she needed more help and her sister Lisa was there to do just that making sure her sister was taken care of. Even with going back and forth to the hospital she stayed strong and couraegous and fought to the very end!  We are at peace knowing that she is no longer suffering and is now reunited with her parents! We will miss you Auntie but you will forever be in our hearts and thank you for leaving us with such great and happy memories!

We LOVE YOU!!    We would like to thank you all for coming and celebrating the life of our Beloved Auntie!
