Michael "Mike" A.

Michael A. Benedik, age 62, formerly of Mt. Oliver, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 10, 2022. 

Beloved husband of 31 years to Sharon Benedik;
Loving father to his sons; Mark, Matthew, Luke and Jake; 
Caring brother to his sisters, Karen (Joe) Rabinek and Lynn (Gene) Pendzich;
Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Eugene; by his sister, Karen; and by his son, Mark.

Michael was a dedicated worker who took immense pride in his livelihood and role as provider. He had an unbelievably kind heart and an unforgettable sense of humor that always brought a smile to those around him. No ask was ever too big for Micheal, as he was always there to lend a hand. 

At peace in nature, Michael pursued interests that pushed him outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camps kept him busy. He enjoyed playing basketball, golf, and sitting on his deck with a cold drink.  In his free time at home, Mike enjoyed picking away at his guitar and crunching the week’s football statistics; you could always find him buried in the sports section of a USA Today with a calculator nearby.  Mike was also a strong self-learner who taught himself how to fix anything you’d ask him to. From changing the wiring on a Dodge Durango to diagnosing the faults on heavy machinery, Mike was a go-to for his insight, patience, and experience. His wisdom and voice of reason will forever be missed by those who were lucky enough to know him.
