Joshua "Josh" Barrette, D.C.
"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye…." 1Cor.15:52
"And whatsoever you do, do it heartily unto the Lord, and not unto man…" Col. 3:23
Joshua Michael Barrette, 27, of Bethel Park, PA, tragically passed away from an auto accident on June 30, 2020, while traveling to visit his friend in Montana.
Dr. Josh Barrette was born at St. Clair Hospital, in Mt. Lebanon, PA on October 14, 1992, and graduated from Bethel Park HS in 2011. He received a BA in Exercise Science at the University of Pittsburgh, and went on to graduate from Palmer Chiropractic School in Florida, June 2019.
One of Josh’s first passions included camping and hiking with his father and brother Owen as a Boy Scout. He and his brother both served as Senior Patrol Leaders, belonged to the Order of the Arrow, and later earned their Eagle Scout Awards. Josh also loved driving his ’67 Triumph Spitfire and his motorcycle, and playing his guitars. He loved God, he loved his family, and he treasured his friends.
Impressed by our family chiropractors, he decided as a youth that he too wanted to be a chiropractor, and he began by interning and then working for a practice in Bethel Park, which he continued throughout college at the University of Pittsburgh until leaving for Palmer Chiropractic School in Florida. Upon graduation, he began practicing in Colorado Springs, Co. Dr. Josh earned the title of Top Doc after only 9 months at the practice, and was building a client base of patients who trusted and appreciated his care. He loved the healing aspect of his profession, and put his whole heart into treating his patients with concern and integrity. He cared about helping people, and spoke truth into their lives. This attitude was evident in all he did, and in the friendships he enjoyed.
Continuing in his love for the outdoors, Josh was enjoying the last hours of his life traveling the beautiful Montana landscape on his way to a new adventure. It was a beautiful sunshiny day, the blue sky stretched as far as the eye could see, the mountains glowed with new snow, and he was thrilled with the open road.
Josh is survived by his parents Don and Gregg Alison Barrette, his brother Owen Daniel and sister Amy Rose, grandparents Irene and (Jack Oelberger, dec), Naomi Kane of New Milford, CT, Sarah and Art Barrette of Holt, MO, and numerous relatives from the east to west coast.
Joshua will be so greatly missed, yet we are comforted to know he is resting, awaiting the return of our Lord, and we will see him again.
A small memorial was held with close family and friends at home.
