John "Wes" Wesley

John "Wes" Wesley Davis was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 27, 1960 and lived in the Knoxville section of Pittsburgh. The Lord called Wes home to be with Him on the morning of May 8, 2022.

 Wes was a student of the Pittsburgh Public School system and attended Westinghouse High School where he sang in the choir and travelled to perform concerts with his sister Lynn. When he was younger, Wes loved playing the bongos for his church choir and at home. He was also known as “Smack”, a nickname given to him by one of his childhood friends.  He loved to go skating at the Coliseum where he would “pull all the girls”. He previously worked at Beck/Arnley along with his brother Joe. His family and friends will remember him as always having a smile to greet you with no matter what was going on in his life or who you were. He enjoyed meeting and helping people, grilling, cooking and entertaining, watching the Steelers games, playing dominoes, raising his “puppies”, music and of course, singing along to it.

Wes loved being a Dad to his only child Rena and “Pap-Pap” to his grandchildren.

Wes leaves to mourn his beloved daughter Larena Hill and his two grandchildren Amir Anthony and Aaliyah LeRé Morris; sisters Marie (Wayne) Hancock, Felicia (Pete) Ferguson, and Phyllis “Lynn” Davis; brothers Joseph (Renita), Mark, Phillip “Phil”, and Shawn (LaVenia) Davis; and a huge host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Wes was preceded in passing by his Mother Gloria Mae Davis; Father Henry White; brother Paul Davis (surviving sister-in-law Linda); sisters Evelyn and Carol Davis; uncles June and David Dudley, and Archie Lee White; Aunts Dorothy “Aunt Dot” Phillips, “Aunt Sis” Turner, and Esther Dudley; nephews JJ, Eric, and Thomas.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, McKinley Park, Bausman St., Pgh. PA 15210,  2pm - 8pm
