Janice N.

Age 72, of Pittsburgh (Shaler), PA, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025.

Born on July 29, 1952, in Pittsburgh, PA, Janice was the beloved daughter of the late Mary D. Scott and John Dancisin. She was also preceded in death by her dear daughter, Shannon Robbins.

Janice is lovingly survived by her daughter Kelli Brown (Bruce), and her son Matt Shaul (Nicole). She was a proud “Mema” to Bruce Jr., Brett (Roxanne), Brendan (Laura), Jordan (Amanda), Hunter (Baleigh), Braehm, Noah, and Theo, and a joyful “Great Mema” to Riley and Arizona—with three more great-grandbabies on the way very soon. Her family was truly the heart of her world.

Known affectionately as “Hockey Mema,” Janice never missed a chance to cheer on her grandkids at the rink or root for her favorite team—the Pittsburgh Penguins. Her recent work at ATS brought her a sense of pride, but nothing lit her up more than time spent with family, vacations with friends, and dancing along to the Pittsburgh BelAirs Oldies band.

Janice especially loved her trips to Aruba, where she found peace, laughter, and adventure with dear friends by her side. Her warmth, humor, and unwavering support will be missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends will be received at Timothy K. Slater Funeral Services, Inc. (412-381-3337) 425 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210 (Mt. Oliver), on THURSDAY, May 15 from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM, where a service will be held at the funeral home on FRIDAY, May 16 at 10:30 AM.

Janice’s light will continue to shine in every memory, every laugh, and every game-day cheer.
