"Harry “Bud” Pferdehirt, of Baldwin Borough, a proud U.S. Army veteran, was peacefully called home to the Lord at the age of 98 on October 29, 2025. He was born in Mount Oliver, PA, to the late Rose and Harry Pferdehirt on March 25, 1927. Bud lived a life of steadfast faith, love, and dedication to his family and country. He was reunited with his beloved wife of 56 years, Anna Mae (Zimmer), who went into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on December 15, 2007. Bud also joined his late brother, Donald, in our Savior’s presence. Bud was blessed with five children and a very loving extended family. He was an avid pet lover of birds and was especially dear to his favorite dog, Gracie.
He is survived by his loving children: Ron Pferdehirt (Judy), Diane Abrahim (George), and Debbie Trowbridge (David). He was the beloved father of the late and very cherished sons, Wayne Pferdehirt (Diane) and Gary Pferdehirt. Bud’s legacy continues through his precious ten grandchildren: Jennifer McDowell (Matt), Jeffrey Pferdehirt (Sara), Beth Caster (Casey), Rebecca Pferdehirt (Alex), Ruth Pferdehirt (Michael), Evan Trowbridge (Sara), Daniel Trowbridge (Sarah Grace), Matthew Trowbridge (Brittany), Michael Trowbridge, Justin Abrahim and fourteen adoring great-grandchildren.
Bud’s life was a testament to strength, devotion, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him! He was a fun-loving guy who never hesitated to help anyone in need, and always willing to go the extra mile. His heart was enormous—he brought laughter, joy, and warmth to everyone he met. A truly compassionate and caring soul.
He was the life of the party at weddings. He brought joy and fun, especially when he broke out into the chicken dance – and danced his heart out! He was an active member and served on the board of the Burning Bush House of Prayer, a Franciscan ministry and spiritual sanctuary dedicated to prayer, reflection, and the presence of God."
