Age 80, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, of Ross Township, originally the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
"Glenn E. Gehring, 80, passed away on December 13, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born on October 27, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Howard J. and Marie L. Gehring. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles. Glenn is survived by his sister, Claudia Gehring Miewald, niece Lynn (Todd) Fischer, nephews Alexander Miewald, Ross Miewald, and cousin Elaine (Gary) Ebbitt.
In his youth Glenn worked at the family business, Gehring’s Grocery and served in the United States Army. Glenn had a successful career beginning as a young man at J & L Steel
and later worked in the hospitality industry at the Westin Hotel in management.
Glenn was dedicated to his family and in later years was an excellent caretaker of his mother. In his free time, Glenn enjoyed playing golf, gardening and shooting pool. Following Pittsburgh sports was one of his hobbies along with collecting music records.

Visitation will be FRIDAY 2 - 4 and 6 - 7:30 at TIMOTHY K. SLATER Funeral Services, Inc. (412-381-3337) 425 Brownsville Road, Mt. Oliver, 15210, where a time of remembrance will be at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be the following day, SATURDAY 11:00 am at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, CHRIST OUR SAVIOR PARISH. If able to attend, EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. An inurment with full military honors will be scheduled for the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation can be made to the Salvation Army in Glenn's memory (information below).
