Elva Louise

On November 30, 2021, Elva Stockdill, age 97, passed into eternal peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born on November 23, 1924, one of four children to Arvid B. and Clara (Keck) Stabler in Clairton, Pennsylvania.
On August 25, 1947, she married Thomas J. Stockdill, and remained his faithful wife for 73 years until his passing.
She graduated from business school and worked as an Administrative Assistant at Community College of Allegheny County, from which she retired in 1990.
Elva was a longtime member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church in West Mifflin, and an active member of Community Bible Church in Avon Park, Florida, during the winters after her retirement.
Elva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas J. Stockdill of 73 years in 2020, her sister Doris Barnes Rutledge in 2021, her sister LaVerne Reilly in 2018, and her brother Donald in 2013.  She is survived by three children, Thomas Stockdill of San Jose, CA, Paul Stockdill of Orchard Park, NY, and Jeanne McLinn, of Harrisburg, PA.  She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends received THURSDAY, December 9, 2021, from 10 - 11:30 am at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 2800 Old Elizabeth Road, West Mifflin, PA 15122, where the funeral service will be held at 11:30 am. Interment will be at the Lebanon Church Cemetery immediately following.
