Jefferson Hills – Elizabeth Lynne Shaffer, born August 16, 1945, in McKeesport, died on December 29, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital. Known to family and friends as “Lynne,” she was a resident of Jefferson Hills near where she had grown up in Floreffe. Lynne graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Duff’s Business School. She worked for several years at US Steel as a Banking Analyst, and later as a clerk at the Jefferson Library. She was the daughter of the late Donald Wilson and Elizabeth Jane (Stokes) Wilson.

Lynne is survived by her husband, Henry Shaffer; three sons, Jim Shaffer of Mechanicsburg, PA, Dan (Jamie) Shaffer of Jefferson Hills, and Jeff Shaffer of Jefferson Hills; four grandchildren, Aubrey Shaffer, Marshall Shaffer, James Shaffer, and Benjamin Shaffer; and one sister, Carol (James) Dowling of Alamo, CA. Lynne was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Wilson. Great joys in her life were being a grandmother, spending time with loved ones, helping others, and watching home remodeling shows. Lynne will be greatly missed by family members and friends around the country.

A memorial service will be planned at a future time.
