Deborah "Debbie" A.

Deborah “Debbie” A. Sims, 65, of Pittsburgh, PA passed on June 17, 2022, due to a fight with cancer. 

Deborah was born on December 30, 1956. Attended South High, and lived in the Knoxville region of Pittsburgh.

In 1976 Debbie met her future spouse Joseph “Joe” Sims. Debbie and Joe went on to have 2 blessed children Joe and Josh. She was the Deet Deet of 4 beautiful children JoeJoe, Jasmine, Jack, and Jayvon that she called her “Deeters.” Debbie became close with her daughter-in-law Faynell Sims (wife to Josh) over the past 8 years and considered herself a Deet Deet to her "grandpup" Tyson. She loved each and every one of these individuals so much, but each in a unique way.

Debbie would spend countless hours doing ceramics and gardening. She loved her pond as well, so much that she called herself the Pond Diva. In the past few years she took that same dedication and applied it to assist her husband. 

Debbie was predeceased by her mother Virginia, father Ralph, her brother Paul, brother Robert (Moose), sister-in-law Bonnie, brother Rick, sister-in-law Beverly, "sister" Sylvia, Peaches, Betty, and Marvin. 

She is survived by brothers Ralph and Raymond, nieces Michele and Stephanie, Robin, Alan, Joan, Nancy, Bootsie, Niecey, Stacey, Betty, Snookie, long time companion and beloved husband Joe, her sons Joe II and Josh, daughter-in-law Fay,  her grandchildren Joe III, Jasmine, Jack, Jayvon, and countless friends and family.

Friends received SUNDAY 2 - 4 pm at TIMOTHY K. SLATER Funeral Services, Inc. (412-381-3337) 425 Brownsville Road, Mt. Oliver, 15210, where a concluding service will be held at 4 pm.
