LATTNER
Alanna D.
Age 68, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, of Mt. Oliver, originally South Side.
Celebrating a life brimming with love, dedication, and joy, we honor the remarkable Alanna Delores Watton Lattner, who, on May 10, embarked on her next journey from the comfort of her cherished home in Mount Oliver, PA. Born on September 1, 1954, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Alanna quickly grew to be a beacon of strength and positivity in her community.
Alanna's story flourished in 1972 when she graduated from South High School, and the plot thickened in 1975 when she joyously tied the knot with her one true love, David M. Lattner. Their beautiful partnership was blessed with three wonderful children: Valarie L. (Eric) Koval, the late Amy (in loving memory), and Julianne Lattner (Tomer) Grassiani.
For over three decades, Alanna served as a dedicated worker bee at UPMC Pittsburgh hospital (formerly Mercy Hospital), where she was known for her unwavering commitment and infectious positivity. She was passionate about her work, yet she always made time for what truly mattered—family.
Alanna's most cherished moments were those spent with her family, whether at her beloved summer home at Presque Isle in Erie, Pennsylvania, or on joyous adventures across the United States visiting her 8 grandchildren: Hannah Lattner (Vinnie), Christopher Malicki, Charles, Kailey, Aubrey, Gabriella, Isabella Koval, and Willow Grassiani, and 3 great-grandchildren Ronan, Ellie, and Stryker
Nothing brought Alanna more joy than a lively game of bingo, a pastime she adored. She often regaled her family with tales of her bingo escapades, her eyes twinkling with excitement and nostalgia.
In addition to her immediate family, Alanna's legacy continues through her brother Ronald Watton (Janet) sister Barbara Miller, brother Edward Watton, several loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces, and a grandnephew. She joins in eternal rest her sister Nancy, her father Edward Watton, and her mother Theresa Watton.
A tribute to Alanna's life will be held at Timothy K. Slater Funeral Serices, Inc., Mt. Oliver. As we remember Alanna, let us not focus on the sadness of her passing, but celebrate the joy she brought into our lives. Her vibrant spirit, love for bingo, and unyielding devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
